On Demand on Shield TV

I just bought VPN Client for use on my shield TV to solely open a UK VPN when I start some English TV catch-up apps.

I’ve imported the profile and can connect within VPN client fine but I can’t get it to open the VPN when I start any of the apps (BBC iplayer for example).

What am I missing / doing wrong ?!

Hello,

thank you for using the app.

The on demand feature can start the vpn when the device send a packet to a specific destination, anyway, at the moment, is not possible to start the vpn by starting a specific app

Is there a way if I set auto connect but only allowed specific apps to be able to use it ?

Hi Admin,

Sorry to hijack this post.
I am using the connect on demand on a Google tv and I find it very good.
I have one problem.
I would like to use this feature on two profiles.
If profile 1 open app1, this profile start vpn1
If profile 2 open app2, this profile start Vpn2
I think the issue is that when app1 start, vpn1 linked to profile1 starts fine, but the connect on demand monitor stop and if I then start app2 Vpn2 doesn't starts.
Is there any fix for this?

Hello,
this behavior is by design because background apps might send packets which could cause VPN profiles to change continuously.
Maybe you can fix this with apps like tasker/automate.
These apps allow you to create custom tasks, for example you can create an task that disconnects the VPN and then launches the app.
However I don't know if these apps are also available on Android TV devices.
