Getting started : How to connect to Open VPN?

I have successfully used VPN Client PRO to connect to my OPEN VPN server - Which requires an IP address, and a username, and password to connect - No certificates , just a username and password.

I then got a second Android device, and tried to set up VPN Client PRO again, but this time, when I select

New Profile > Open VPN Profile > Next > Enter the IP as the host

Default UDP 1194

Next > Next.

But now, all the authentication modes require some sort of certificate. What happened to just username & password authentication?, or am I missing something?

To use OpenVPN user/password authentication you must enter at least the CA certificate.

• set the "Authentication mode" to "Ca (TLS) + password"

• tap on "Certification authorities" and import the CA certificate

Anyway the simplest way to configure the OpenVPN is to import a ovpn file.
